How the online alarm clock works
An online alarm clock is the simplest way to make sure a time does not slip past you. You pick an hour and a minute, choose a sound, and leave the tab open. When the clock reaches your time, the sound plays and your message pops up on the screen. There is nothing to download and nothing to sign up for.
Set an alarm in four steps
- Click Set Alarm and choose the hour and minute you want.
- Pick a sound, from a soft harp to a loud rooster, and type a short message if you like.
- Press Test once to hear the sound and set your volume.
- Leave this tab open. The alarm rings the moment the clock hits your time.
What makes it reliable
- It keeps working offline, so a dropped connection will not stop the alarm.
- Your sound, colour and font choices are saved in the browser for next time.
- A live countdown shows exactly how long is left before it rings.
- It runs on any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser.
Tip: The alarm only rings while the browser is open. If you close the tab or shut the computer down, the alarm cannot sound. On a phone, keep the screen from fully sleeping for a short nap alarm.
Popular ways people use it
Most alarms fall into a few simple jobs. You can jump straight to a ready-made time, such as a 6:30 AM alarm for a work morning or a 7:00 AM alarm for school. If you would rather browse a full grid of times, the Set Alarm page lists every quarter hour of the day.
| You want to | Try this | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Wake up for work | 6:00 AM alarm | Enough time for a calm start |
| Take a power nap | 20 minute timer | Short rest without deep sleep |
| Remember a meeting | a preset alarm time | Rings once at the exact minute |
| Time a task, not a clock time | the countdown timer | Counts down from a length you choose |
Alarm clock, timer or stopwatch — which one?
These three tools look similar but answer different questions. Picking the right one takes a few seconds once you know the difference.
Online alarm clock questions
Will the alarm ring if my computer is asleep?
No. The alarm needs the browser to be running to play its sound. It will still work with no internet, but not if the tab is closed or the device is fully asleep. For a short nap, keep the screen awake.
Can I set more than one alarm at a time?
This clock rings one alarm at a time. If you need several, open the tool in separate browser tabs, or bookmark a few preset alarm times and open the one you need.
Is the online alarm clock free?
Yes. Every tool on uuClock is free, with no account and nothing to install. The same goes for the timer, the stopwatch and the world clock.
Why can I not hear the alarm sound?
Most often the tab is muted or the device volume is low. Press Test to check the sound, turn the volume up, and make sure the browser tab is not silenced.
